Educational Qualifications

• Essential: Master’s degree in law (LL.M.) from regular courses only.
• Post-qualification relevant work experience of at least 2 years, including 1 year of experience in the formulation of public health policy.
• Working knowledge of important health-related laws.
• Excellent legal research, analysis, drafting, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and handle multiple assignments to meet tight timelines.
• Understanding of the public health structure and systems in India.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
• Computer proficiency with high familiarity with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Published work in the area of law, health, or equity.

Desirable Qualifications

• Work experience in health law and policy, including hospitals, healthcare, mental health, gender, sexuality, disability, HIV, TB, tobacco control, etc.
• Research experience on relevant areas of law and health.

• Employment Type: Contractual basis

Job Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to ED Secretariat and NHSRC divisions on issues related to law and health.
• Monitor and assess compliance with health-related laws and regulations.
• Provide expert legal advice to the ED-Secretariat division, NHSRC, and stakeholders.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of health-related policies and legislation.
• Foster stakeholder collaboration and representation in legal forums and consultations.
• Conduct regular audits and legal research to support policy formulation and decision-making.
• Represent NHSRC in legal forums and initiatives; liaise to minimize legal risks.
• Stay updated on emerging legal developments in the healthcare sector.
• Undertake other assignments as directed by the Executive Director, NHSRC.
