Overview

BARC invites online applications for Scientific Officers through the Orientation Course for Engineering Graduates and Science Postgraduates (OCES-2026) and the DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme for Engineering Graduates (DGFS-2026). The online portal opens from 22 December 2025 and closes on 21 January 2026. Eligible candidates include engineering graduates and science postgraduates with a minimum of 60% marks. Selected candidates will undergo training and may be placed in Group-A posts on 7th CPC pay scales.

  • Persons with disabilities: age relaxation as per rules (40% or more disability) with possible provisions for a scribe

Eligibility

Eligibility Criteria

  • Engineering graduates (B.E./B.Tech./B.Sc. (Engineering) or a 5-year Integrated M.Tech.) in disciplines such as Civil, Chemical, Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Metallurgical Engineering with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks.
  • Science postgraduates (M.Sc./Integrated M.Sc.) in Physics, Chemistry, Biosciences, Geology and Geophysics with relevant subject combinations and a minimum of 60% marks.
  • Regular (full-time/on-campus) qualifications only; correspondence, distance education, research-based, or part-time degrees are not eligible.
  • Candidates with valid GATE scores (GATE-2024, GATE-2025 or GATE-2026) in relevant papers may be screened in for the interview.
  • Applicants graduating in 2025-26 may apply, subject to meeting all requirements before 31 July 2026 and submitting final marksheets by 31 December 2026 (DGFS Institute timeline) or as per DGFS institute requirements.
  • Indian citizens; No Objection Certificate may be required for employees of government or PSUs at the time of selection interview.
