How to Apply

  • Applications for the post of Ombudsperson (one post each in Leh and Kargil) must be submitted on the prescribed proforma (Annexure I) by eligible candidates from District Leh and District Kargil. The documents should reach the Directorate of Rural Development Department & PRI, UT Ladakh, Council Secretariat Complex, Kurbathang, Kargil by 20 December 2025.

Selection and General Information

  • The selection will involve a district panel prepared by the Selection Committee and an interview process; there will be no written test.
  • The panel will be published on the UT Ladakh and nodal department websites to invite public comments for 30 days. All comments will be considered and resolved within 30 days of the commenting period ending.
  • The appointment will be for a term of two years, extendable by up to two one-year increments based on performance, up to a maximum age of 68 years. No re-appointment beyond the stipulated term.
  • The compensation will be Rs 2,250 per sitting, with a monthly maximum of Rs 45,000. Office expenditure, TA/DA, and other allowances will be borne by the UT as per applicable rules.
