Age Limit

• Maximum Age Limit: Not more than 55 years
• Age relaxation is applicable as per rules.

Educational Qualification

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree from any recognized university or its equivalent examination.

Other Requirements

• From amongst the ex-Indian Commissioned Officers of the rank of Colonel or Lieutenant Colonel or equivalent ranks of the Indian Navy or Indian Air Force.
• Must have passed Matriculation Examination with Punjabi as one of the compulsory or elective subjects or any other equivalent examination in the Punjabi language, as specified by the Punjab Government from time to time.

Application Fee Structure

• Ex-Serviceman, Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Persons with Disabilities (PWD), and Lineal Descendants of Ex-Serviceman (LDESM) of Punjab State only: Rs. 500/-
• Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes of Punjab State only: Rs. 750/-
• All other Categories: Rs. 1500/-

Selection Process

The selection procedure for candidates for the post of District Defence Services Welfare Officer (Group-A) will be based on the following:

• Written Competitive Examination: 120 Questions, 480 Total Marks
• Interview: 60 Total Marks
• Total Marks: 540

How to Apply

Candidates can ONLY apply by filling out the Online Application Form available on the Commission's website, http://ppsc.gov.in. No other mode of application will be accepted. The deadline for submitting online application forms is 2025-11-03 by 11:59:00 PM.

Candidates are advised to fill their details carefully in the online application form, including Name, Father's Name, Date of Birth, Category for post, Qualification, Experience, Photo and Signature, Category for fee, etc. After the final submission of the online application form, no changes will be allowed, and candidates will be responsible for any mistakes in the data filled. The category once selected by a candidate will not be changed under any circumstances.

Submission of Printed Copy of the Application Form

Candidates are NOT REQUIRED to send a hard copy of the Online Application Form to the office of the Punjab Public Service Commission. However, candidates must save a soft copy or take a printout of the Application Form at the time of applying, as it will not be accessible at a later stage. Candidates must retain the hard/soft copy of the online application form along with all eligibility documents, ready to be sent to PPSC whenever required at short notice.

However, candidates applying under the Sports Category must send a hard copy of the Online Application Form along with the Sports Gradation Certificate issued by the Department of Sports, Punjab, the latest Punjab Residence Certificate, and the Reserve Category Certificate issued by the competent authority (if applicable) by post or by hand at the reception counter of PPSC by 2025-11-03 to establish their eligibility under the Sports category.
