Age Details

• Minimum Age (as on 30-12-2025): 18 years
• Maximum Age:
  • Library Clerk: 35 years
  • Assistant Librarian: 36 years
• Age Relaxation: As per categories and rules for Divyang, Ex-Servicemen, and others (details in official notification).

Educational Qualification

• Essential: Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science or Library Science from a recognized university or institution as defined by Indian law.
• Computer Knowledge: Basic knowledge of computer applications as prescribed by relevant rules.
• Language: Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.

Citizenship

• Candidate should be a citizen of India or possess nationality as per applicable rules.

Desirable

• Computer certificate/marksheet from a recognized institute, or a computer diploma/degree/certificate.
• Computer as a subject in degree/diploma curriculum or standard 10/12 with computer as a subject.
• Candidates without a certificate can apply but must submit it before appointment.

• Fee Payment Last Date: 02-01-2026 (23:59 hrs)
• Note: Fees are non-refundable if the application is rejected or the candidate does not appear for the exam.

Important Instructions

• Divyang (Physically Handicapped) vacancies are announced separately under Advertisement No. 264/2024-25 and 260/2024-25.
• The selection process comprises MCQ-CBRT/OMR-based examination conducted in one stage with two parts (Part A and Part B).
• The final selection is based on merit in the competitive examination and adherence to eligibility criteria.
