Eligibility Details

Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel

• Practice in Criminal law for at least 10 years
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to lead and work collaboratively

Deputy Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel

• Practice in Criminal law for at least 7 years
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• IT knowledge with proficiency in work

Assistant Legal Aid Defense Counsel

• Practice in Criminal law from 0 to 3 years
• Good oral and written communication skills
• IT knowledge with high proficiency in work

Essential qualifications

• A law degree is required for practice

Desirable qualifications

• LL.M., Ph.D. in Law, IT and Legal Software tools knowledge

Experience

• Varies by post; may include a review of minimum case handling requirements

General Information / Instructions

• The posts are on a contract basis under the Legal Aid Defense Counsel System (LADCS).
• Each post requires a separate application form.
• The number of posts may be increased or decreased as per MP State Legal Services Authority directives.
• The authority reserves the right to cancel the advertisement at any time.
• Selected candidates will work under the oversight of DLSA, Mandla and the MP State Legal Services Authority.
• Leave entitlement is 15 days per calendar year pro-rata for Chief/Deputy LADC and 12 days for Assistant LADC/staff.
